FAQS
How do you do translate my idea into a book?
Phase 1: We interview you by secure conference line or via Skype and over a series of calls, we gather all the information we need to build an outline.
Phase 2: You will be assigned to an writer who will continue to gather information to complete your story.
Phase 3: You wait, while we write. Then you receive the delivered manuscript and and check for facts, tone and style.
Phase 4: You wait again. We revise.
Phase 5: Delivery of your final manuscript. In your hands. Or in a computer file. Or both. However you want.
How long before I see my manuscript?
It's usually a three to six month process, depending upon the length of your book.
How much does it cost?
While most professional "ghostwriters" charge between $75,000 - $100,000 per book, we can undercut those prices because of Book Drop's approach. And honestly, we really are interested in getting voices out there that are interesting, provocative, not often heard, and make a difference. For a one time minimal charge we can have the manuscript Kindle-ready as well and beautifully formatted.
Prices range from $30,000-$60,000 depending upon the length of the book, your timeframe, and other particulars of the book. Each project is evaluated and quoted on a bespoke basis.
If you have a concept for a series, please contact us with "series" in the comment section.
Are you writers or editors?
We are both. And we can function as either or both, depending upon what best serves the needs of your project.
Do I have all the rights to my book?
Yes. You're the author. Your name will never appear as a "client" anywhere on our website, in social media, or in dinner table conversation. We offer complete, total, (dare we underline it?) hermetically sealed confidentiality. Think of us as your personal writing team who can save you time and money. What you do with your manuscript is up to you.
Does it matter where I'm located?
Nope. We work with people all over the world. The U.K. Australia. California. New York. Canada. We never sleep. Just kidding.
Do you publish books?
What Book Drop delivers is an agent or publisher ready manuscript, but we won't publish your book for you. However, we are founding partners in another company, The Writing Shop, that also offers self-publishing services.
Can you work with multiple author projects?
Yes, we can. However, we recommend a maximum of four authors for one book. Pricing will vary.
What other services do you offer?
We offer screenwriting services for shorts or feature scripts. From content and development editing to outlining and project/book proposals, we can work with you. Please inquire about pricing.
Do you work with organizations?
Yes, we are happy to work with either non-profit or for profit organizations and companies. If you are considering a book which might be a company history or anthology, please contact us. Often companies, collectives, or nonprofits decide to write a book together for an audience of investors or funders.
